The Emory Philosophy Department offers courses in ethics, politics, & law; philosophies of race, gender, and difference; philosophies of art & culture; and courses in the history of philosophy from the ancients through the twentieth century. Our internationally recognized faculty work in and across multiple traditions, including philosophies of the Americas and continental philosophy. We take philosophy to be an expansive project of engaging the world, critically addressing the status quo, and opening up vistas for living well.
For our undergraduate students we offer two majors, one in Philosophy and the other in Philosophy, Politics, and Law. At the graduate level, we have a world-renowned graduate program for students seeking the Ph.D.
